Designed by William Morris in 1881, Strawberry Thief was inspired by the mischievous thrushes he watched stealing strawberries from the garden at Kelmscott Manor. Rather than simply being annoyed by his feathered visitors, Morris captured the moment in what became one of his most recognisable and enduring designs.
Filled with cheeky birds, ripe strawberries, flowers and intricate foliage, Strawberry Thief has all the richness and character of classic Arts & Crafts design. Morris originally created it as a textile and spent considerable time perfecting the traditional indigo-discharge printing technique used to produce it.

Care
To keep your handcrafted coasters looking their best, wipe away spills promptly and clean with a soft damp cloth using warm water and a little mild washing-up liquid.
Do not allow water to stand on the surface. Dry thoroughly before stacking or storing.
Avoid abrasive cleaners, furniture polishes or chemical sprays, as these may damage the protective finish over time.
