Helping you re-discover the timeless beauty and elegance of your vintage furniture.

Elevate your space and bring a touch of sophistication to your home by having your vintage furniture professionally upcycled, using only the highest quality products, creating a unique and personalised piece for your modern home.

My passion is taking your unloved vintage furniture and transforming it, keeping its history and charms but giving it a new lease of life, and creating an iconic family piece that will stand the test of time and can be passed down through the generations.

Every transformation is bespoke and no two pieces are the same ... they are as unique as your imagination; all created with love, care and attention to detail.

Shel's Shabby Chic is located in Stotfold SG5 on the Herts/Beds border, not far from the traditional market town of Hitchin.

Want to paint your own furniture, but don't know where to start?  I can teach you!

I offer Furniture Painting for Beginners Workshops, so that you can learn 1-to-1 and step-by-step how to prep, paint and finish your furniture to a professional standard.

As a beginner, not only will you learn a new skill and enjoy a fun and creative day with me in Stotfold, but you will also go home bursting with knowledge, enthusiasm and the confidence to paint your own pieces at home!

I can now offer you a special Beginner's Painting Kit, containing all the tried and tested tools you need to complete an upcycling project at home, from start to finish.  It's exclusively available to my 1-to-1 Workshoppers, not even on the website!

You can find out more about a 1-to-1 Workshop here.

A passion for learning

I just love passing on my knowledge, and I've always had a passion for learning new skills and creating beautiful things (preferably at the same time).

Over the years I've enjoyed pottery, calligraphy, jewellery making, glass blowing and fused glass, traditional and modern upholstery, landscape acrylics and even spent a day in a blacksmith's forge, but when I found furniture painting, I just knew it was the one that ignited my fire!

So, what would you like to do next ... browse my gallery of previous commissions and Transformed Furniture, look at my Naked Furniture available for customisation, visit my Shop, Get in Touch or just take a look around?

Whichever you choose, take your time, enjoy and thank you for visiting.
